We will be kicking off our series of interesting speakers for 2018 with our General Meeting on 14 February – Valentine’s Day! – with a refreshing program featuring LtCol Angela Stanton, USAF, Dental Corps. Angela is the Dental Support Flight Commander, Oral & Maxillofacial Prosthodontist, 60th Dental Squadron at the hospital, Travis Air Force Base.

LIEUTENANT COLONEL (DR.) ANGELA K. STANTON
Lieutenant Col Angela K Stanton is currently the Dental Support Flight Commander of the 60th Dental Squadron.  She is also the Chief of Prosthodontics and a staff member of the Advanced Education in General Dentistry-1 Year (AEGD-1) Residency Program.

Lt Col Stanton was born in Mt. Pleasant, MI and raised in Shepherd, MI.  She attended Western Michigan
University in Kalamazoo, MI and subsequently the Indiana University School of Dentistry as a Health Professions Scholarship Program recipient, graduating with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in May, 2003.  Upon graduation, she entered the United States Air Force.  Her first assignment was to Wright-Patterson AFB, OH where she completed an AEGD-1 residency program.  She then served as a general dentist at Rhein-Main Air Base, Germany.  Lt Col Stanton was then accepted for and completed a residency in Prosthodontics at Wilford Hall Medical Center at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, TX, receiving her Master of Science in Prosthodontics degree in 2008.  Upon graduation, she immediately entered a fellowship in Maxillofacial Prosthetics, also at JBSA-Lackland, TX, graduating in 2009. 

 
Upon graduation, Lt Col Stanton was assigned as a staff prosthodontist and Dental Laboratory Flight Commander at Luke AFB, AZ.  Next, she accepted her first teaching assignment as a prosthodontic staff member for the AEGD-1 residency program at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska wher she was also the Dental
Laboratory Flight Commander.  Last, Lt Col Stanton moved to Travis AFB, CA where she was the Dental
Laboratory Flight Commander before taking on her current role as the Dental Support Flight Commander. 

Lt Col Stanton has been married to her husband, Juan Guerrero, for 5 years and they have 2 sons, Alexander and Nicolas.
