The doors to the "Point Welcome Room" in the Coast Guard Dining Facility will be open at about 11:00.  There will be a short business meeting at about 11:15.  We will get lunch from the dining facility at about 11:30 and presentation will start at about 12:00.

The Chapter charges $15.00 for admission to the General Meeting, that includes lunch from the Coast Guard Dining Facility.

Access to Coast Guard Island:  A military Identification Card is required for access to Coast Guard Island.  If you don't have a military ID card, please contact our Chapter Secretary, Ramona Chavez by email:  ramonachavez@comcast.net or by telephone (925) 963-2711, before June 13th so she can arrange fro your access to Coast Guard Island.

Driving to Coast Guard Island is still a challenge with the I 880 road construction currently in progress. I advise all those driving north bound to Coast Guard Island on I 880 to skip the 29th and 23rd street exits and continue north to the 5th Avenue/Embarcadero exit.  Then, cross under I 880 and drive south on Embarcadero, past Quinn’s Light House restaurant, to Dennison Street, Oakland.  At Dennison Street turn right to cross the bridge to Coast Guard Island.  A GPS will help only after you get to the Embarcadero exit.  I suggest entering 1900 Dennison Street, Oakland into your GPS as your destination.  There are other ways to get to CGI, but this is the only one that I know.
