Our chapter proudly supports local ROTC cadets through scholarships and recognition programs that help develop the next generation of military officers. ROTC students balance rigorous academics with leadership training and a commitment to serve—your support helps them stay focused on their goals and reduces financial barriers along the way. By investing in ROTC, we’re investing in character, leadership, and service. Donations and sponsorships directly support scholarships and cadet awards in our local area. Join us in strengthening America’s future—one cadet at a time.

For over ten years, the Alameda MOAA Chapter has annually given a scholarship ranging from $1000 to $1500 to three deserving cadets/midshipmen. We award one from each of the three ROTC units at the University of California at Berkeley, the Army, Air Force and Navy/Marines. The scholarships help the students pay for the expenses of their education while training for service to our country as a member of the armed services.
The scholarships are awarded at an awards ceremony for all three ROTC units at UC Berkeley. Our Chapter sends three members to make the rewards. Our Chapter then follows up by attending the commissioning ceremonies for each of the three ROTC units later in the spring.
